About the role
As a Contracts Manager at Central Steel & Wire, part of the Ryerson Family of Companies, you will oversee a sales team, set sales targets, and ensure customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for inventory management, including tracking purchases, sales, and costs, ensuring accurate records for reporting and decision-making. Your role will ensure sales efforts align with strategic goals in a dynamic, quality-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a sales team to achieve targets and goals, including hiring, training, goal setting, and performance reviews.
- Maximize sales, gross margin dollars, margin percentage, net profit, and return on average capital employed.
- Oversee various projects and activities related to the sales program, ensuring alignment with overall objectives.
- Develop and implement sales strategies and manage the pipeline.
- Assist in major quotations and opportunities.
- Support Sales Representatives in developing new business and maintaining close contact with the current customer base.
- Track and analyze sales performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Make recommendations to the General Manager regarding the disposition of all discretionary claims.
- Prepare and manage sales budgets, forecast sales revenue, and analyze profitability.
- Prepare reports and support data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas of opportunity.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or as responsibilities and activities may change.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Supply Chain Operations, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain operations, including demand/supply planning and inventory management.
- Demonstrated team and influential leadership experience.
- Experience using ERP systems, such as SAP.
- Strong analytical capability and use of data to influence action.
- Team-oriented with strong negotiation skills.
Pay
$99,450 - $124,312 annually plus commission. Starting salary may exceed $99,450 based on experience and education that significantly exceed minimum requirements.
