Shape the future of national security as the Director of Contracts for Leidos’ Mission Solutions Business Area within the Intel Sector. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and mission-critical impact, where you’ll lead complex relationships that directly support the nation’s intelligence community.

About the role

As Director of Contracts, you’ll be at the strategic heart of our organization, orchestrating relationships that advance national security. You’ll lead a dynamic team of contracts professionals while partnering with senior executives, government officials, and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that protect and advance national interests.

Reporting to the Sector Vice President of Contracts & Supply Chain, you’ll serve as the primary strategic advisor to Business Area leadership, managing talent and budget across the organization. This role goes beyond contract management—it’s about relationship building, risk mitigation, and strategic partnership development at the highest levels.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain key partnerships within the Intelligence Community and Leidos executive leadership.
  • Lead recruitment, career development, and performance management for a contracts organization.
  • Drive compliance with FAR, DFAR, and other regulatory requirements while implementing cutting-edge solutions (including AI).
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Program Execution, Legal, Finance, and HR to resolve complex contractual challenges.
  • Deliver results in proposal win-rates, cost savings, compliance, and risk management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, or Master’s with 10+ years in government contracts, subcontracts, or proposal support.
  • Minimum 4 years of team leadership experience with a proven ability to develop talent.
  • Expert-level negotiation skills for complex terms and conditions.
  • Working expertise in FAR/DFAR, OTAs, CRADAs, and commercial agreements.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph (required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intelligence Community acquisitions expertise.
  • Formal contracting certifications.
  • Large capture team leadership experience.
  • AI implementation experience in contract processes.
  • Government or corporate procurement background.

Pay

Pay Range: $139,100.00 - $251,450.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered include responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, market data, and applicable law.
