Contractor - Test Engineering Technician, Level II (Test Technician, 2)

Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental testing of aerospace mechanisms using established procedures.
  • Tests include static load, thermal vacuum, benchtop operation, separation, shock, and vibration.
  • Operate spaceflight hardware and fixtures using data acquisition system and established procedures.
  • Attach and remove components on spaceflight hardware.
  • Inspect mechanical and electrical components after s completion.
  • Perform maintenance on s fixtures.
  • Idea generation of potential process improvements.
  • Assist with non-conformance investigations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 4 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with common aerospace assembly and inspection tools, e.g. torque wrenches, load cells, feeler gauges, calipers, multimeters.
  • Experience assisting with writing technical work instructions related to Environmental Testing.
  • Understanding and experience with quality management systems such as AS9100.
  • Strong manual dexterity, ability to handle small parts such as fasteners as small as #0-80.
  • Experience using electronics equipment (e.g. DMMs, power supplies, DAQs, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Strong technical capability and mechanical inclination, with ability to follow and execute procedures.
  • Understanding of advanced electronic circuitry.
  • Experience working in an Aerospace cleanroom environment - preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as autonomously.
  • Effective communication abilities, attention to detail and self-motivated.
  • Possess strong problem solving and communication abilities.
  • High standard of quality workmanship.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Capacity to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control laws.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills.

Pay

$26.00 - $34.00 per hour

Schedule

Up to 6 months with the possibility of extension or conversion to a Redwire employee.
