Contractor HSE Manager
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and contractor leadership to promote safe work practices and compliance with HSE standards.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of contractor operations, with a focus on high hazard activities, including construction projects.
- Collaborate with the Capital Engineering team to ensure HSE standards are met on all capital construction projects.
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and training programs tailored for contractor personnel.
- Lead incident investigations involving contractors, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Cook up and coordinate pre-job safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ensure contractors are informed of site-specific hazards and requirements.
- Ensure contractors have appropriate certifications, training, and equipment for high hazard work.
- Track and report contractor HSE performance metrics, trends, and compliance issues to management.
- Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance contractor safety culture and minimize environmental risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing operations, with substantial exposure to high hazard processes.
- Proven experience managing or supporting contractor safety in industrial settings.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, PSM, RMP, and other relevant HSE regulations for chemical manufacturing.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractor organizations.
Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $141,096 - 176,371. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Solstice considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations. This position is incentive plan eligible.
