About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at the client site in Kentucky. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, particularly in C, Pro*C, and C++ in UNIX environments. This role requires a proactive individual who can contribute to the design, development, and implementation of software solutions with a focus on enhancing our MMIS (Medicaid Management Information System) capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications using C, C++, and Pro*C in UNIX and Linux environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Write efficient SQL queries for database management and data manipulation.
• Utilize shell scripting to automate processes and improve system performance.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues, providing timely resolutions.
• Contribute to the documentation of software designs, processes, and user manuals.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance software development practices.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience in the following skills:
  • Proficiency in C, C++, and Pro*C programming languages.
  • Strong experience with UNIX operating systems; expertise in HP-UX and Linux is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of SQL for database interactions.
  • Experience with shell scripting for automation and process improvement.
  • Familiarity with the MMIS domain is a must.

Qualifications

Pay

Salary range: $60,000 to $91,500.
