Position Overview

The Contracting Specialist will be responsible for the preparation, negotiation, acceptance, and management of government contracts and subcontracts. This role ensures proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

Duties

  • Conducts the preparation, negotiation, acceptance, and management of government contracts and subcontracts to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Analyze estimates of material, equipment and production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reviews contractual documents to ensure adherence to company policy, government specifications and requirements, and conformance to master agreements.
  • Advise management of contractual rights and obligations and provide interpretation of terms and conditions.
  • Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect immediate organization.
  • Interpret and administer policies, processes, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate work units.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 10 years of experience with government contracts, acquisition, fulfillment, policy, costs, and procedures

  • 8 years of experience
  • PhD or JD with 2 years of experience
