Contract Trainer III: Welding Department

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Audit and update curriculum materials to align with industry standards and SCC’s vision and mission.
• Evaluate and provide constructive feedback to students.
• Collaborate with faculty to enhance the welding program.
• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and safety standards.
• Attend departmental meetings, faculty development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and guide students to support their success.
• Maintain supplies, confidential student records, and monitor lab equipment.
• Ensure a safe learning environment by following procedures.
• Deliver instructional classroom and practical hands-on training.
• Train students to comply with industry recognized welding procedures and American Welding Society SENSE criteria.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 3-5 years of related experience as a Welder.
• Strong attention to detail and leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of: Welding, Cutting and Fabrication.
• Self-motivated and able to work well with others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• American Welding Society Certification(s).
• Experience as a Welding Instructor / Trainer in an industrial environment.
