About the Role

Coordinates incoming correspondence in Provider Services, including reviewing and researching issues or requests, maintaining logs, and electronically distributing requests to the appropriate department or staff within expected timelines. Ensures all provider agreements received are appropriately and timely scanned or imaged into the contract management system, including reviewing agreements for redlined changes, maintaining logs, and applying quality controls to agreement images.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate through writing and/or by phone with internal and external customers to triage and resolve incoming workload.
  • Review and research all contact notes received in Provider Services; electronically distribute to appropriate department or staff within expected timelines.
  • Review and research all incoming inter-office mail and external correspondence for provider data correction requests; distribute to appropriate department or staff.
  • Review and research all provider agreements received in Provider Services for accuracy and completeness, identifying any inappropriate redlined changes.
  • Recognize issues with agreements and determine appropriate handling.
  • Maintain a log of all provider agreements received in Provider Services.
  • Scan and image all provider agreements received in Provider Services; apply quality controls to ensure image quality.
  • Assist with development and updating of protocols and desk procedures.
  • Triage and track issue resolution to completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of varied responsible experience with computer database programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of data entry experience.
  • Experience using provider data management systems and/or contract management systems.
  • Experience working for a managed care program or health care provider.

  • Problem Solving / Analysis: Ability to solve problems through systematic analysis of processes with sound judgment; has a realistic understanding of relevant issues.
  • Technical Skills: Thorough knowledge and complete understanding of the credentialing process and requirements; proficient with Word, Excel, Visual Cactus 3.0, and the ability to produce reports through querying; working knowledge of VA policies and procedures outlined in the VA Operations Manual, VA Policy Manual, DoD Regulations, and the TriWest Central Region RFP.

Working Conditions

Pay

This position typically ranges from $44,000 to $46,000 per year.
