About the role

The Contracts Development Consultant plays a crucial role in supporting policy forms and related documents for Group Life, Group Dental, and Group Vision products. This position involves collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance with insurance laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Draft group insurance policy forms in accordance with product objectives, company policy, and state laws and regulations.
  • Analyze contracts and review applicable laws and regulations to determine their impact on new and existing contracts.
  • Negotiate final form approval with state agencies.
  • Develop analytical and research skills to interpret and validate regulatory comments during the approval process.
  • Establish strong relationships and partner with product development, service, actuarial, operations, sales, underwriting, IT, and other key partners to accomplish deliverables.
  • Devise solutions for unusual and unprecedented product or customer situations.
  • Prepare, maintain, and disseminate filing status and other internal metrics reports to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Research and respond to internal and external customer questions regarding contract features and compliance.
  • Research and respond to form-related questions from internal partners including sales, service, implementation, and product development.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of relevant business experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and self-motivation; flexibility, enthusiasm, and proven collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat).
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments with varying deadlines simultaneously, maintaining a strong focus on timeliness and on-time delivery.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Juris Doctor.
  • Technical knowledge and skills in group contract work, particularly in life, dental, and/or vision insurance products.
  • Familiarity with insurance laws and regulations pertaining to contracts and filing procedures.

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is $64,800 - $99,300. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
