About the Role
Plan, direct, and supervise contracted maintenance and major construction modifications to power plant facilities. Interface with other departments to ensure contracted work is completed per specifications, safely, and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Recommend and implement resolutions for technical engineering problems associated with the installation of materials or equipment.
- Participate in the resolution of contractor claims resulting from project contracts.
- Assist in selecting contractors/vendors, prepare quotes, bid summaries, pricing analyses, and risk analyses based on commercial terms.
- Coordinate technical recommendations, prepare additional funding requests, and issue executed purchase orders, contracts, amendments, and change orders per SECI’s policies.
- Review contract expenditure reports to track actual changes and collaborate with departments to secure additional funding before contract expiration.
- Distribute contract expiration and funding reports to maintain a stable and reliable supply.
- Interface with engineering staff to resolve design discrepancies in equipment or systems.
- Review drawings and documentation to ensure equipment operates as designed and aligns with manufacturer recommendations.
- Coordinate and monitor contractors’ compliance with contract specifications, SECI Safety Program, and equipment clearance procedures.
- Handle grievances in conjunction with the Supervisor of Contract Maintenance.
- Direct other SGS employees as needed for projects.
- Perform NERC Compliance Program roles as designated, including evidence retention for audits.
- Familiarize yourself with Seminole’s Enterprise Internal Compliance Program (ENT-GCD-RGC-EP-054) and associated duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in construction management or a related field. Four (4) years of work experience in construction management or a related area can substitute for education.
- Progressively responsible experience in supervision of plant projects/modifications and inspection testing is preferred.
- Basic working knowledge of contract law and regulations applicable to SECI requirements.
- Basic knowledge of contract conformation, including negotiating commercial terms, resolving technical issues, establishing pricing structures, and reducing risk while meeting SECI requirements.

Physical Requirements
- Capable of inspecting industrial facilities and equipment, including climbing stairs, elevated platforms, ladders, construction elevators, heights, and accessing equipment doors.
- Subject to working conditions involving extreme temperatures, dust, and high noise levels.
- Able to work at heights above 200 feet for extended periods.
- Must follow established protective measures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
Working Conditions
- Occasional travel and work outside of normal business hours.
- Potential exposure to hazards typical of an industrial working environment.
