Responsibilities
- Participates in the development and fulfillment of contract requirements for the purchase or sale/delivery of equipment, materials, products, or services.
- Evaluates contract compliance and advises on contractual rights and obligations.
- Requests amendments to contract terms or extensions as needed.
- Assists with bids or requests for proposals (RFPs), including specifications and requirements.
- Helps negotiate contract terms and participates in determining acceptable bids.
- Works with procurement to develop statements of work (SOWs), requests for information (RFIs), requests for quotations (RFQs), and RFPs to address sourcing needs.
- Understands the scope and purpose of agreements and modifies them to align with University standards and requirements.
- Owns the process for executing contract amendments, change orders, license renewals, and audits.
- Participates in validation, selection, and award processes to ensure compliance with guidelines.
- Reviews new projects requiring external vendor support.
- Ensures complete contract SOP is followed and all required aspects are completed.
- Understands differences between agreement types and appropriately utilizes them as a subject matter expert (SME).
- Advises others on the use of appropriate agreements and negotiates new ventures, amendments, terminations, and maintenance of vendor agreements in cooperation with procurement, legal, and stakeholders.
- Understands commercial terms and implications, applies appropriate pressures, and identifies effective negotiation tactics.
- Manages and oversees the creation and maintenance of a vendor repository in a contract management database to track key engagement milestones such as expirations and renewals.
- Segments and rationalizes the vendor portfolio, applying appropriate focus to strategically important vendor relationships.
- Determines contract tiers and assigns objectives to each tier.
- Manages communication with vendors, handles contract disputes, and engages the legal team when necessary.
- Maintains professional relationships with project managers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience required.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Pay
The compensation range for this role is $61,000.00 – $85,400.00 annually. Individual salaries will be set within this range based on factors including market data, education, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and other relevant considerations.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with scheduled weekly hours of 40. The work shift is UR – Day (United States of America).
