About the role
As part of the Project Management Office (PMO) Contracts Team, you will support the development and execution of procurement packages for general contractors, design-build entities, and professional services providers such as architects, engineers, and inspectors.
This is a heavily administrative role with minimal administrative support, requiring strict adherence to policies, procedures, templates, and applicable laws under consistent internal and external audit scrutiny.
Work is fully on-site in the PMO Office with no hybrid or remote opportunity in accordance with District policy.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with project management personnel at the District, PMO, College Project Teams, or Colleges to develop and prepare procurement packages.
- Manage competitive bidding and selection processes for construction and professional services, from planning through award, including all administrative functions (e.g., preparing procurement documents, addenda, evaluation materials, approval and award documentation, and contract documents).
- Report, track, and ensure quality control for assigned procurement processes.
- Handle multiple concurrent procurement processes with various stakeholders.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the department supervisor to meet District needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree (relevant field preferred). Additional four years of qualifying experience may substitute for the required education.
- Knowledge of standard contract terms and conditions for design, construction, and related services.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Reliable, responsive, and positive work ethic with the highest degree of integrity.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and focused on quality and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to accurately track and report status for concurrently running projects.
- Fast learner and logical thinker.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with higher education capital improvement projects.
- Knowledge of California Public Contract Code and California Community College Code.
- Experience with electronic bidding software (e.g., PlanetBids).
- Experience with alternate project delivery methods such as Design-Build.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Proliance, Trimble).
