Continuous Improvement Technician

Essential duties and/or Functions
- Support and drive daily continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing environment
- Observe production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste
- Partner directly with shop floor operators to identify improvement opportunities and develop solutions
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to production performance, quality, and downtime
- Lead small-scale improvement initiatives and contribute to larger Kaizen events
- Collaborate in small, cross-functional teams to implement and sustain improvements
- Develop and maintain standard work instructions and process documentation
- Facilitate basic root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Track and report progress of improvement initiatives to stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards on the production floor
Required Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required
- An associate’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
- 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or a related environment
- Foundational knowledge of or strong interest in Lean Manufacturing principles
- Willingness to learn and apply tools such as 5S, standard work, and root cause analysis
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word)
- Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with team members at all levels, including shop floor personnel
Preferred/Desired Skills or Experiences
- Exposure to Lean concepts through coursework, internships, or certifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production setting (even part-time or internship)
- Demonstrated initiative or experience leading small projects (academic or professional)
- Familiarity with basic data tracking or reporting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to influence without authority
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Reliability and strong work ethic
