About the role
The Continuous Improvement Technician will drive a lean culture through the Eaton Continuous Improvement System (ECIS). They will serve as a team and tool expert to meet CI deliverables and assist in the sustainment of area actions/improvements. They will participate and lead rapid improvement events, kaizens, GEMBAs, problem-solving events, etc. They will drive CIF implementation to achieve High Five goals and use as a competitive advantage.
Responsibilities
- Drive a lean culture through the Eaton Continuous Improvement System (ECIS)
- Serve as team and tool expert to meet CI deliverables and assist in the sustainment of area actions/improvements
- Participate and lead rapid improvement events, kaizens, GEMBAs, problem solving events, etc.
- Drive CIF implementation to achieve High Five goals and use as a competitive advantage
- Own and lead site 5S+ program, consistent of (Tracking, 5S+ checklists, and Open Items)
- Co-Lead and support Eaton Continuous Improvement System (ECIS) and Operational Assessment (OpA) action items
- Aid in RIE/Kaizen events comprised of multi-functional team members
- Own Ideas Program (CI Tickets) tracking for the facility
- Assist in meeting all plant Continuous Improvement objectives, Productivity improvements, and cost-out savings targets
- Assist in the preparation of the current/future Value Stream Map creation
- Aid in Continuous Improvement (CI) training for existing employees and new hires during onboarding
- Help sustain CI culture in the plant
- Assisting with plant layouts as needed
- Assisting in lean material flow projects
- The implementation of visual controls throughout the facility such as but not limited to (Floor marking, Labeling, Color Coding, Shadow Boards, Continuous Improvement Boards, and Tier boards/productivity metrics)
- Aid in Layer Process Audit and Gemba audit completion and action item tracking
- Aid in Industry 4.0 Initiatives, plant-wide digitalization opportunities and digital dashboard creation for shop floor
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 1 year work experience in manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of problem solving and quality techniques
- Preferred qualifications include an associate’s degree from an accredited institution, 3 years’ work experience in manufacturing environment, working knowledge of engineering problem solving and quality techniques, understanding of production and inventory, working knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement framework building blocks, demonstrated participation in CI activities, and job-related computer skills
