Summary

The Continuous Improvement Specialist assists and facilitates efforts to continually improve and standardize business processes, identify and implement best practices, and establish metrics on the shop floor. They work with both bargaining unit and administrative employees to address opportunities for continuous improvement and apply Lean Manufacturing principles to improve processes, product quality, and employee knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Champion, mentor, and facilitate task standardization processes.
  • Communicate and support ATI's strategic vision, principals, and annual objectives across the organization.
  • Integrate leadership skills with Lean Manufacturing principles and expertise to guide and train employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Develop standards for all aspects of an operation, including operator training, incoming material requirements, process parameters, process supplies, equipment condition, task performance, and final product quality requirements.
  • Audit operations and processes for strict adherence to standard practices.
  • Assist in the resolution of production, equipment, and system problems, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Facilitate 5S events and train employees regarding the benefits of an organized workspace.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and train employees regarding the benefits of a standardized and disciplined approach to the job.
  • Benchmark against other internal and external companies.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or business discipline.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial setting.
