About the role

The Continuous Improvement / Manufacturing Engineering Co-op within the METEM team at GE Vernova will tackle the challenge of providing cleaner, more accessible energy through optimization and continuous improvement of non-traditional machining processes.

Responsibilities

  • Drive customer satisfaction, quality, and fulfillment by reducing variation in key process parameters to improve part quality and performance.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify waste and drive productivity savings throughout the production area.
  • Work with complex chemical and mechanical process equipment to resolve technical issues in real-time.
  • Build intimate process knowledge to evaluate improvement areas and lead cross-functional teams to implement these changes.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures to ensure the safe and effective use of production equipment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline.
  • Accepted Majors: Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
  • Desired Characteristics: Strong interest in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, analytical mindset with problem-solving skills, effective communication, and self-motivation.

Qualifications

  • Eligibility Requirements: Internship Term - Fall/Winter 2026 (Target Start: September 21, 2026), Work Schedule - 40 hours per week (1st Shift), Authorization - U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and protected individuals).
