Continuing Education Instructors

About the role

The School of Continuing and Professional Studies at Pratt Institute (SCPS) is seeking part-time, non-credit instructor appointments for upcoming semesters. SCPS offers a variety of professional development non-credit courses, workshops, and certificate programs in art, design, and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach non-credit courses or workshops in art, design, and architecture, including creating syllabi and participating in curriculum development meetings.
• Propose new courses based on area of expertise and engage with students through in-person, hybrid, and online learning platforms such as Canvas and Zoom.

Requirements

• Candidates must have expertise in their field and be evaluated based on their professional background, education, and prior teaching experience.
• Ideal applicants will have experience teaching in-person, hybrid, and online courses.
• Experience with Canvas, Zoom, and other online learning tools is preferred.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a relevant degree and professional experience in art, design, or architecture. They should be able to demonstrate their ability to effectively communicate and engage with students through various learning platforms.

Skills

• Ability to develop and deliver engaging and effective non-credit courses or workshops.
• Experience with Canvas, Zoom, and other online learning tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay

Pay rate varies depending on the nature and duration of the course or workshop, ranging from $60 to $120 per hour.

Schedule

Class schedules vary and depend on the specific course or workshop.
