About the role

The Continuing Education High School Monitor/Facilitator supports the successful operation of Continuing Education and Dual Enrollment programs by providing a safe, organized, and welcoming learning environment. This position serves as a positive role model while promoting student engagement, attendance, and academic success.

Responsibilities

  • Receive students from high school buses and supervise groups of students to and from classrooms.
  • Monitor classrooms, hallways, and common areas to maintain a safe, secure, and respectful learning environment.
  • Ensure classrooms and learning spaces remain clean, organized, and equipped for instruction.
  • Record and monitor student attendance, tardiness, and classroom participation.
  • Facilitate student check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to attendance, incidents, and classroom activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and comply with applicable federal, state, and institutional regulations.
  • Respond appropriately to student concerns, conflicts, or emergencies, escalating issues to supervisors when necessary.
  • Assist with testing sessions by monitoring students and ensuring testing protocols are followed.
  • Communicate effectively with students, instructors, staff, and community partners.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the goals of the Continuing Education department.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Working knowledge of emergency response procedures and safety protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with various student populations.
  • Ability to accurately maintain attendance records, reports, and other documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with instructors, staff, students, and community partners.
  • Ability to maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment.
  • Ability to monitor student behavior, enforce policies, and address concerns professionally and consistently.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals from various backgrounds and varying educational levels.
  • Ability to respond calmly and appropriately during emergencies or challenging situations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while functioning as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of work experience teaching, supervising, or monitoring youth in a classroom setting.

Pay

$12.00 per hour.
