About the role

The Contingent Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a foundational member of a high-performing integrated healthcare team covering Honor Community Health's walk-in clinic. Reporting to the Associate Chief Medical Officer, the NP manages health problems and coordinates primary medical care, working in partnership and collaboration with HCH’s integrated practice team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage health problems and coordinate high-quality primary medical care
  • Collaborate with Honor Community Health’s (HCH) integrated practice team to deliver comprehensive integrated care to vulnerable populations of Oakland County
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations and nursing standards of care
  • Work collaboratively to create and maintain a culture of excellence and dedication to providing compassionate and high-quality health care

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification in Family or Pediatric specialty area
  • Current and valid Michigan license to practice medicine
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Board certified at hire and must maintain appropriate board certification, licensure, and membership in professional organizations
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain Medicaid and Medicare provider credentials
  • 1+ years of progressive experience as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Experience with CPT and ICD coding
  • Knowledge of and experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • A flexible and positive attitude

  • Ability to create an excellent patient experience
  • Patient-focused mindset

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Must have a current Nurse Practitioner certification in the Family or Pediatric specialty area
  • Must possess a current and valid license to practice medicine issued by the State of Michigan
  • Must possess current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Must be board certified at hire and will be expected to maintain appropriate board certification, licensure, and membership in professional organizations
