About the role
This position involves developing and maintaining 1D engine and propulsion models using GT Power, including intake and exhaust systems.
Responsibilities
- Correlate models to test data for torque, power, and thermal parameters
- Simulate operating maps for performance assessment
- Perform DOE and optimization studies
- Translate CFD insights into 1D models
- Improve modeling methods
- Process large data sets
- Provide design and calibration recommendations
- Communicate findings through reports and presentations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace Engineering
- 3+ years of experience with GT Power or similar tools
- Strong understanding of combustion engines, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer
- Experience with engine testing, data analysis, and scripting (Python)
Skills
- Advanced degrees and over 5 years of experience
- Engine calibration expertise
- Familiarity with coupled CFD analyses
- Ability to develop standard work and collaborate effectively across teams
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills to support innovative engine development initiatives
