Job Duties
- Collecting and reviewing accounts receivable (AR) and following up on unpaid accounts (including utilizing Artiva and/or specialized projects)
- Reviewing accounts in all databases for accuracy
- Resubmitting claims if necessary
- Forwarding write-offs, payment adjustments, refunds, and other corrections to designated employees at the Business Services Office (BSO)
- Absorbing and providing account information and billing questions to attorneys, adjusters, and patients
- Obtaining missing billing information
- Maintaining oversight of C51
- Monitoring the Commission website for hearing status and results
- Working on A/R correspondence
- Keeping AR pools in Artiva current
- Completing daily A/R logs
- Communicating with BSO staff as needed
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year’s experience in third-party billing/AR, or medical billing/coding certification
- Computer knowledge and accurate keyboard skills
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of computer applications, including Windows, Outlook, and Microsoft Office
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to multitask
- Confidence in working independently
- Typing speed of 50+ words per minute
- Working knowledge of insurance guidelines and billing and collection procedures
- Ability to effectively interact with doctors, attorneys, patients, and coworkers
