Content Writer & Researcher (Functional Health)

About the role

We're seeking a Content Writer & Researcher with expertise in functional health to launch and own two key content channels for Be Balanced by Micaela. These channels include a new blog and a Substack channel written in Micaela's voice.

Responsibilities

• Own the content strategy and keyword research for the Be Balanced blog, including SEO and execution
• Develop a long-form content plan for the Substack channel, grounded in Micaela's clinical perspective
• Write one long-form piece per week, scaling as the channels grow
• Stay abreast of the functional health industry, identifying relevant topics and developments
• Establish Be Balanced as the authority in functional health through content that educates and engages
• Collaborate with the Fractional CMO and Social Media Manager to align content with broader campaigns and brand direction
• Analyze content performance data and adjust the content roadmap accordingly

Requirements

• Genuine expertise in functional health
• Strong research skills, grounding content in primary sources with credible citations
• Proven experience producing long-form content for health, wellness, or science-backed brands
• Strong SEO fundamentals, including keyword research, search intent, and on-page optimization
• Ghostwriting experience, able to write in someone else's voice
• The ability to simplify complex concepts and make them engaging and accessible
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret content performance data and act on insights

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of proven experience in long-form content creation
• Experience writing for functional health, integrative medicine, longevity, or related fields
• Strong time management and organizational skills
