CONTENT TUTOR – MEDICAL LABORATORY ASSISTANT

About the Role

The Content Tutor for Medical Laboratory Assistant supports students in healthcare subjects, including math, sciences, and writing, through instruction and study-skills development.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group tutoring assistance to students as needed
• Assist the ASC Manager in forming specialized study groups
• Assign software programs to assist students in various academic programs
• Distribute information leading to academic improvement
• Consult with faculty regarding the center’s resources
• Research and maintain a current list of useful Internet resources for students and faculty
• Collaborate with the Tutoring Services Coordinator, academic discipline faculty and staff, and Student Services faculty and staff to provide optimal services
• Provide tutoring services orientation for faculty members

• Ability to assist undergraduate learners with course content
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse student population
• Experience with one-on-one and group tutoring
• Experience as a medical laboratory assistant

Preferred Qualifications

• Tutoring and/or teaching experience in medical laboratory assistant curricula
• Earned credential (certificate) in medical laboratory assisting or a related health science field
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) from the American Medical Technologist Certification national examination
