CONTENT TUTOR - MEDICAL LABORATORY ASSISTANT

About the role

The Content Tutor: Medical Laboratory Assistant assists students with various healthcare subjects including math, sciences, and writing through instruction and study-skills implementation.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group tutoring to students as needed
• Assist the ASC Manager in forming specialized study groups
• Assign software programs to support students in various academic programs
• Distribute information leading to academic improvement
• Consult with faculty regarding the center’s resources
• Research and maintain a current list of useful Internet resources for students and faculty
• Collaborate with Tutoring Services Coordinator, academic discipline faculty and staff, and Student Services faculty and staff to provide optimal services
• Provide tutoring-services orientation for faculty members

Requirements

• Customer service skills
• Strong communication and written skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Analytical skills
• Ability to assist undergraduate learners with course content
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse student population
• Experience with one-on-one and group tutoring
• Experience as a medical laboratory assistant

Qualifications

• Tutoring and/or teaching experience in medical laboratory assistant curricula
• Earned credential (certificate) in medical laboratory assisting or a related health science field
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) from the American Medical Technologist Certification national examination

Pay

$19 per hour
