CONTENT TUTOR – DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY

Hiring range: $19/hr

Part-time, non-exempt position. Schedule varies: Monday – Thursday (10:00 am to 7:00 pm), Friday (8:30 am to 12:30 pm), with occasional evenings and weekends as needed and coordinated with supervisor.

About the Role

The Content Tutor for Diagnostic Medical Sonography assists students with healthcare-related subjects including math, sciences, and writing through instruction and study-skills implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group tutoring to students as needed.
  • Assist the Academic Support Center Manager in forming specialized study groups.
  • Assign software programs to support students in various academic programs.
  • Distribute resources and strategies for academic improvement.
  • Consult with faculty regarding the center’s resources.
  • Research and maintain a current list of useful Internet resources for students and faculty.
  • Collaborate with the Tutoring Services Coordinator, academic discipline faculty and staff, and Student Services to provide optimal student support.
  • Provide tutoring services orientation for faculty members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting in emergency declarations by the Governor.

Requirements

  • Customer service, communication, and written skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Analytical skills and ability to assist undergraduate learners with course content.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse student population.
  • Experience with one-on-one and group tutoring.
  • Experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer.

Qualifications

  • Tutoring and/or teaching experience in diagnostic medical sonography curricula.
  • Earned credential (certificate, associate of applied science degree, or bachelor’s degree) in diagnostic medical sonography or a related health science field.
  • Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
