Hiring range: $19/hr
Part-time, non-exempt position. Schedule varies: Monday – Thursday (10:00 am to 7:00 pm), Friday (8:30 am to 12:30 pm), with occasional evenings and weekends as needed and coordinated with supervisor.
About the Role
The Content Tutor for Diagnostic Medical Sonography assists students with healthcare-related subjects including math, sciences, and writing through instruction and study-skills implementation.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and group tutoring to students as needed.
- Assist the Academic Support Center Manager in forming specialized study groups.
- Assign software programs to support students in various academic programs.
- Distribute resources and strategies for academic improvement.
- Consult with faculty regarding the center’s resources.
- Research and maintain a current list of useful Internet resources for students and faculty.
- Collaborate with the Tutoring Services Coordinator, academic discipline faculty and staff, and Student Services to provide optimal student support.
- Provide tutoring services orientation for faculty members.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting in emergency declarations by the Governor.
Requirements
- Customer service, communication, and written skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Analytical skills and ability to assist undergraduate learners with course content.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse student population.
- Experience with one-on-one and group tutoring.
- Experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer.
Qualifications
- Tutoring and/or teaching experience in diagnostic medical sonography curricula.
- Earned credential (certificate, associate of applied science degree, or bachelor’s degree) in diagnostic medical sonography or a related health science field.
- Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
