About the Role
University Marketing and Communications at Southeast Missouri State University seeks a creative and efficient storyteller with strong copywriting instincts to craft compelling content. The Content Strategist is responsible for developing a clear strategy for inspiring and engaging the audience and communicating the brand story across multiple channels. The strategist measures and analyzes results and engagement to refine content marketing efforts.
Responsibilities
- Write effective email marketing content, including e-newsletters, automated communication workflows, and SMS, that guides users through defined journeys and results in marketing conversions.
- Develop compelling stories and messages that attract and grow a digital audience online and in publications while following brand standards and communication style guidelines.
- Work closely with key stakeholders within the University's colleges, divisions, and departments to develop communications that strategically target audiences, including prospective students, parents, alumni, and media.
- Write and create effective landing pages to improve search engine optimization.
- Monitor and analyze key metrics to improve digital communications and performance.
- Enthusiastically collaborate with team members to achieve University goals and create effective campaigns.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, journalism, public relations, English, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience writing compelling stories within brand voice.
- Solid understanding of marketing and media channels and how to strategize and message effectively at different stages in the sales funnel.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated excellent creative and idea generation skills.
- An impeccable eye for detail, proofreading, and editing skills.
- Evidence of organizational skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Collaborative working style with a focus on building relationships across teams and promoting content best practices.
- Ability to use email marketing platforms to design and create communications.
