About the Role

Meta is seeking a Content Policy Associate Manager to shape how we think about actor behavior and platform integrity – defining the policies, frameworks, and guardrails that govern how accounts, pages, groups, and new products operate across our platforms. You will work closely with teams including Product, Global Operations, Legal, Communications, and Public Policy, providing policy counseling for new product launches, shaping AI-driven content moderation governance, and driving clear decision-making across leadership and partners. You will also support escalation coverage, election readiness, and crisis response.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to assess policy risks in new launches, tests, and product changes — defining safeguards, flagging tradeoffs, and clarifying escalation paths before features reach users.
  • Own policy counseling for actor-level enforcement, assessing proposals for impacts on free expression, safety, and enforcement precision — ensuring risks are surfaced early with clear guidance for operations and integrity teams.
  • Shape governance and policy frameworks for AI-driven content moderation — including automated enforcement decisions and post-deployment monitoring to ensure defensibility and accuracy at scale.
  • Build consensus with cross-functional partners, translating product developments into concrete policy risk analysis.
  • Support regulatory and communications inquiries and represent Policy in cross-functional meetings.
  • Contribute to election readiness and crisis response efforts, coordinating with integrity and legal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public policy, law, political science, communications, or related discipline)
  • 4+ years of experience in content policy, trust and safety, platform integrity, operations, legal, government, nonprofit, or related field
  • Experience working autonomously and cross-functionally to develop policies and apply analytical thinking to complex problems
  • Judgment to operate independently on sensitive topics and escalate when appropriate
  • Ability to communicate complex policy positions clearly and succinctly in writing to executive audiences
  • Experience presenting policy positions verbally to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership
  • Comfort with potentially sensitive or objectionable topics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams to define policy requirements for new product launches or feature tests
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality reviews)
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable impact
  • Experience assessing policy tradeoffs across free expression, safety, and product goals
  • Experience developing governance frameworks for AI-driven decision-making systems
  • Ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt engineering, agent orchestration) and familiarity with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience with enforcement architecture (e.g., strikes, penalties, entity-level enforcement)
  • Experience supporting elections integrity or crisis response at a technology platform

Pay

$94,000/year to $143,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
