The Content Editor is based in the United States and is part of a remote-first environment managed by a partner company. This role requires a blend of editorial expertise and hands-on experience with AI content workflows, SEO, and digital marketing operations.
About the role
This position involves shaping a modern content ecosystem focused on improving visibility across search engines and AI-powered platforms. Key responsibilities include developing and executing SEO strategies, monitoring brand presence, and managing content refresh processes.
Responsibilities
- Owning content quality, AI-powered content operations, and visibility strategies
- Improving content quality, accuracy, discoverability, and long-term performance through scalable processes
- Collaborating with marketing leadership and content teams to influence audience engagement
- Implementing Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and AI Optimization (AIO) strategies
- Maintaining AI-assisted content workflows using tools like Claude
- Managing content refresh processes to ensure performance, relevance, and visibility
- Recruiting, coordinating, and managing freelance writers, agencies, video contributors, and AI agents
- Creating detailed content briefs, outlines, and editorial guidance
- Proofreading, editing, and quality-checking all content before publication
- Providing feedback and coaching contributors to improve content quality
- Supporting digital community growth initiatives
- Collaborating with marketing and content stakeholders on strategy, research, topics, formats, and content priorities
Requirements
- Strong editorial experience combined with hands-on knowledge of AI content workflows, SEO, and digital marketing operations
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple content initiatives independently
- Proven hands-on experience using Claude or similar AI tools to create and optimize content workflows
- Exceptional writing, proofreading, editing, and content quality assurance skills
- Experience creating B2B SaaS content or working in a technology-focused content environment
- Practical understanding of AEO, GEO, and AIO concepts and their impact on digital visibility
- Experience using SEO and analytics tools such as Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics
- Previous experience managing freelance writers, agencies, contractors, or AI-assisted content contributors
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines independently
- Ability to provide constructive feedback, coach contributors, and maintain high editorial standards
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Experience with WordPress, content management platforms, AI visibility tools, technical SEO audits, Screaming Frog, SurferSEO, or similar tools
- Previous experience building AI-powered content operations or working in a fast-paced digital environment
