Key Responsibilities

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work within a team
• Safely operate and control heavy-duty trucks (including tractor/trailer combinations over 24 tons)
• Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions with precision
• Knowledge of coupling/uncoupling trailers, including landing gear, air lines, electrical connections, and fifth-wheel locks
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Show basic mechanical aptitude to perform minor vehicle maintenance (fueling, checking oil/fluids, minor repairs)
• Follow safety procedures and protocols consistently
• Show a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and work ethic
• Promptly report issues, incidents, or safety concerns

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum 2 years of truck driving experience
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and TWIC Card (required for port drayage operations)
• Clean driving and background record, including no DUI or felony convictions within the past three years
• Experience operating Kenworth T800 trucks and familiarity with Samsara ELD or similar electronic logging devices preferred

Work Conditions

• Regularly required to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle
• Frequent climbing in and out of trucks and trailers
• Exposure to outdoor conditions including heat, cold, and varying weather
• May require lifting, pulling, or handling equipment and materials
• Rotating schedules or extended hours may be required depending on delivery demands
