North Reading Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and dedicated educator to join our team as a Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

About the role

We are looking for a Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in our integrated preschool program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children with disabilities and a strong commitment to inclusive education.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for preschool students with disabilities.
• Provide direct instruction to students in both small group and one-on-one settings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure an inclusive learning environment.
• Conduct assessments and monitor student progress toward IEP goals.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for support at home.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and district initiatives.
• Adhere to state and federal special education regulations and district policies.

Requirements

• Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) license in Special Education (Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities, PreK-8 or All Levels).
• Experience working with preschool-aged children with disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and evidence-based instructional strategies for young learners with special needs.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Commitment to inclusive education and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
