About the role
The Consumer Lending department at Dollar Bank receives loan applications for various products including auto, boat, credit card, home equity, RV and home improvement loans. This department also reviews documents for loan decisions and manages loan loss ratios to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Use Dollar Bank's underwriting guidelines to review and make decisions on all types of consumer credit
- Review tax returns for self-employed customers to verify income
- Analyze necessary documents such as property reports, flood reports, and appraisals
- Discuss loan decisions with branches and loan center team members
- Support branches in handling customers' borrowing needs
- Act as a risk manager by understanding, reporting, responding to, managing, and monitoring risks encountered daily as required by Dollar Bank's risk management program
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- A college degree is preferred
- Three (3) years of experience in consumer lending are required
- Strong reasoning skills are essential for making well-thought-out decisions
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to interact with internal and external customers while demonstrating excellent customer service
- The ability to work independently and adapt to change is necessary
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required
