About the Role
The Consumer Lending Associate performs loan processing and/or closing, assists in maintaining assigned officer accounts, and handles general account servicing responsibilities for the bank’s consumer loan portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, courteous, and excellent service to internal and external clients.
- Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries from consumer loan clients.
- Promote a team environment by assisting other team members with internal or customer inquiries or issues, and performing other duties as needed.
- Manage and maintain confidential customer information.
- Assist loan officers with servicing and monitoring duties, including:
- Gathering credit applications and financial information.
- Requesting appraisals, title work, and flood determinations.
- Preparing and mailing early disclosures.
- Gathering trust or other legal documents.
- Apply due diligence in compliance with loan policy and approved loan structure for documentation and disbursements.
- Accurately input loans into Laser Pro or other software for document preparation and generate loan documents for new and renewal loan closings.
- Process initial requests for draws on construction loans and assist in fund disbursement and construction inspections.
- Review files post-closing to ensure all documents are signed and funds are disbursed correctly.
- Follow up to protect the bank’s security interest by ensuring proper recording of liens, security filings, and receipt of final title policies.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of internal procedures and systems, including Laser Pro and Aurora Documents.
- Adhere to consumer loan compliance regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act, HMDA, Flood Determination guidelines, TRID, and bank loan policies.
- Prepare loan modification agreements, subordination agreements, and extensions as applicable.
- Assist consumer lending officers in monitoring and processing maturing loans in a timely manner.
- Comply with all company and regulatory policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Foster and preserve a culture of inclusion.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the company’s mission, vision, and values.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in consumer loan processing, closing, and/or underwriting desired.
- Demonstrated knowledge of lending procedures and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
- Capability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in banking software (e.g., Laser Pro) and Microsoft 365 products, with high attention to detail.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
