About the role
The Consumer Finance Litigation Senior Counsel will defend financial services companies in both state and federal courts, with a focus on consumer finance litigation. The role involves working primarily with attorneys in our Financial Services & Capital Markets business unit.
Responsibilities
- Defend financial services companies in state and federal courts
- Handle litigation involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and other federal and state consumer protection statutes
- Represent mortgage servicers and/or originators in contested foreclosures, quiet title actions, title disputes, and related claims
- Articulate legal strategies and courses of action
- Manage multiple projects effectively under pressure
Requirements
- At least eight years of relevant experience in consumer finance litigation
- Active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which you are applying, or commitment to obtain one as soon as possible
- For virtual office (The Link) candidates: must be licensed in the state of residence
- Experience with financial services litigation, including FCRA, FDCPA, RESPA, and other consumer protection statutes
- Experience representing mortgage servicers and/or originators in contested foreclosures, quiet title actions, and title disputes

Pay
Pursuant to applicable state laws, the compensation range for this position is:
- $185,000 - $230,000 in California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington, D.C., commensurate with qualifications and experience
- Salaries in all other markets will vary depending on market data
