Consumer Finance Litigation Senior Counsel
About the role
Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Consumer Finance Litigation Senior Counsel with at least eight years of relevant experience. This position is open to candidates residing and licensed in California, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, New York, or Ohio, though candidates from other states are considered. The ideal candidate will defend financial services companies in both state and federal courts, have experience with the FCRA, FDCPA, RESPA, and other consumer protection statutes, and represent mortgage servicers and/or originators in contested foreclosures, quiet title actions, and title disputes.
Responsibilities
- Defend financial services companies in both state and federal courts
- Represent mortgage servicers and/or originators in contested foreclosures, quiet title actions, and title disputes
- Have a working knowledge of the FCRA, FDCPA, RESPA, and other federal and state consumer protection statutes
- Work primarily with attorneys in the Financial Services & Capital Markets business unit
Requirements
- At least eight years of relevant experience
- Experience defending financial services companies in both state and federal courts
- A working knowledge of the FCRA, FDCPA, RESPA, and other federal and state consumer protection statutes
- Experience representing mortgage servicers and/or originators in contested foreclosures, quiet title actions, and title disputes
- An active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which they are applying or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible

Pay
Pursuant to applicable state laws, the compensation range for this position in California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington, D.C. is $185,000 - $230,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salaries in all other markets will vary depending on market data.
