About the role
Husch Blackwell LLP is a national law firm with multiple locations across the United States, dedicated to our clients and the industries they serve. We have an immediate opening for a Consumer Finance Litigation Associate with three to five years of relevant experience preferred. We will consider candidates for any of our offices, including our virtual office, The Link, however, candidates residing and licensed in California, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, New York, or Ohio are strongly preferred. The candidate will work primarily with attorneys in our Financial Services & Capital Markets business unit.
Responsibilities
- Defend financial services companies in both state and federal courts
- Represent mortgage servicers and/or originators in contested foreclosures, quiet title actions, title disputes, and related claims
- Articulate legal strategies and courses of action
- Effectively handle multiple projects under pressure
Requirements
- Three to five years of relevant experience preferred
- Working knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and other federal and state consumer protection statutes
- Experience representing mortgage servicers and/or originators in contested foreclosures, quiet title actions, title disputes, and related claims
- Active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which you are applying or commitment to obtain one as soon as possible
- For virtual office (The Link) applicants, must be licensed in the state of residence

Pay
- $200,000 – $230,000 in California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington, and Washington, D.C.
- $210,000 – $225,000 in Minnesota and Vermont
- Salaries in all other markets vary depending on market data
- Associates are eligible for an Associate Performance Bonus and Client Development Bonus
