Consumer Finance Litigation Associate

About the role
We have an immediate opening for a Consumer Finance Litigation Associate with three to five years of relevant experience preferred. We will consider candidates for any of our offices, including our virtual office, The Link. Candidates residing and licensed in California, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, New York, or Ohio are strongly preferred.
The candidate will work primarily with attorneys in our Financial Services & Capital Markets business unit.
Responsibilities
- Defend financial services companies in both state and federal courts.
- Represent mortgage servicers and/or originators in contested foreclosures, quiet title actions, title disputes, and related claims.
Requirements
- Experience with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and other federal and state consumer protection statutes.
- Excellent academic credentials.
- Commitment to the community.
- Superior interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of working well under pressure.
- Exceptional judgment and the ability to effectively handle multiple projects.
- Ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action.
- Active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which they are applying or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible.
- Candidates applying for a role in our virtual office, The Link, must be licensed in the state in which they reside.

Pay
Pursuant to applicable state laws, the compensation range for this position is:
- California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington, and Washington, D.C.: $200,000 - $230,000
- Minnesota and Vermont: $210,000 - $225,000
- All other markets: varies depending on market data
Associates are eligible for an Associate Performance Bonus and Client Development Bonus.
