About the role

As a Consulting Utility Forester, you will work directly with utility clients, property owners, and contractors to ensure safe and sustainable vegetation management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Work with utility clients, property owners, and contractors to implement safe and sustainable vegetation management practices.
  • Provide expert advice on vegetation management strategies to minimize risks to power delivery and infrastructure.
  • Assess vegetation conditions and develop plans to maintain clearances and prevent damage to power lines.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to explain vegetation management plans and address concerns.
  • Document all activities and communicate progress to clients and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in forestry, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in vegetation management or related field.
  • Knowledge of utility line clearance standards and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with GIS software and mapping tools.
  • Understanding of ecological impacts and conservation principles.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance procedures.
