About the role
As a Consulting Utility Forester, you will work directly with utility clients, property owners, and contractors to ensure safe and sustainable vegetation management practices.
Responsibilities
- Work with utility clients, property owners, and contractors to implement safe and sustainable vegetation management practices.
- Provide expert advice on vegetation management strategies to minimize risks to power delivery and infrastructure.
- Assess vegetation conditions and develop plans to maintain clearances and prevent damage to power lines.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to explain vegetation management plans and address concerns.
- Document all activities and communicate progress to clients and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in forestry, environmental science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in vegetation management or related field.
- Knowledge of utility line clearance standards and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with GIS software and mapping tools.
- Understanding of ecological impacts and conservation principles.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
Skills
