Consulting Solution Architect – Hybrid Infrastructure

About the Role

The Consulting Solution Architect - HI is a field-based technical pre-sales role focused on developing comprehensive security solutions for CDW customers. This position involves providing consultative guidance, supporting partner product sales, scoping service offerings, and fostering strategic relationships to drive business growth. You will work with customers, delivery teams, and internal sales to develop and maintain strategic relationships as a trusted advisor, growing CDW’s Hybrid Infrastructure services business.

Responsibilities

• Develop appropriate assessment and service solutions for CDW customers, including architecture, optimizations, technology health checks, deployment services, and advisory services.
• Collaborate with customers, delivery teams, and internal sales to offer consultative guidance, plan sales strategy, and author statements of work (SOWs).
• Analyze technical and competitive considerations, defining actions to meet customer expectations in the sales cycle by uncovering customer long-term goals and requirements and crafting solutions that build toward desired end goals.
• Maintain strategic relationships with customers, internal sales, and delivery management, acting as a trusted advisor to drive business growth.
• Maintain relationships with key strategic partners by holding at least 5 partner technical certifications.
• Grow influence in your assigned territory through high levels of engagement with vendors, partners, customers, and sales as a strategic advisor and subject-matter expert.
• Act as a subject-matter expert in multiple families of products and solutions, contributing regularly to CDW marketing-approved online activities such as LinkedIn, blog posts, and online magazines.
• Drive outreach initiatives, technical enablement projects, coaching, and mentoring of other Solution Architects, Solution Executives, and Field Sellers.
• Mentor and coach solution architects on best practices for engaging with coworkers and customers.
• Travel up to 25% or as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, and 7 years in a technical, pre-sales, or post-sale delivery role OR 11 years in a technical, pre-sales, or post-sale delivery role.
• Motivated, self-starting, and able to independently perform high-quality work with minimal guidance.
• Industry knowledge and domain expertise, including understanding of industry-specific challenges, regulations, and best practices.
• Deep understanding of architecture, products, technologies, and solutions offered by CDW to provide tailored recommendations.
• Strong team collaboration and leadership skills, including working effectively with cross-functional teams such as sales and delivery.
• Customer-focused approach with excellent communication and presentation skills to engage with customers, gather requirements, and explain technical concepts clearly.
• Solution design and problem-solving skills to analyze complex problems, identify appropriate solutions, and translate technical concepts for customers.
