Consulting Senior Associate, Biologist (Entry Level)

Responsibilities

  • Develop Biological Resource Assessments.
  • Support preparation of CEQA and NEPA documents, ESA Biological Assessments, CDFW 1602 permits, and more.
  • Mentor early career scientists and provide technical QA/QC assistance on deliverables.
  • Prepare proposals, including development of scopes and cost estimates, and participate in business development with existing clients.
  • Adhere to scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables and timely delivery of reports.
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.
  • Other assigned duties as required, such as project coordination, deputy project management.

Requirements

  • BS in Biological Sciences, or related field. Master’s degree is desirable but not required.
  • A minimum of 2 years in environmental consulting/experience of biota in Northern California; prior experience in power sector is considered an asset.
  • Expertise with federal and state regulations including California Coastal Act, CESA, ESA and/or CEQA, and environmental assessments.
  • Technical competency in environmental permitting.
  • Technical writing and analysis skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a demanding work environment.
  • Positive outlook, self-starter, who has a collaborative work ethic.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including following established health and safety protocols.

Benefits

The annual base pay for this role is $68,640 – $70,725 (USD). An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above.
