Role Overview

Summer interns become integral members of consulting teams, working on an engagement for the duration of the summer under the direction of and collaborating closely with Associate Consultants, Consultants, Engagement Managers, and Partners. Interns receive their own individual stream of work within an existing engagement that approximates the experience of a permanent Analyst.

Responsibilities

  • Help define analytic approaches, integrate multiple analyses, and develop analytic understanding of client problems to identify issues and opportunities that motivate client action
  • Gather and refine complex data sets and data sources to enable accurate and robust quantitative analyses
  • Help provide insight into hypotheses under consideration and contribute to the team's understanding of the client's overall problem and potential solutions
  • Support the creation of elegant, multi-issue client communications, present analytic findings and recommendations, and field client questions with minimal support
  • Draw upon healthcare knowledge, trends, and experiences to highlight relevant implications for clients

Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • Undergraduate degree required; currently seeking students in their junior year graduating in spring/summer 2028
  • Comfortable manipulating and synthesizing large amounts of data
  • Experience working and leading in a team environment where required to manage own work with minimal oversight
  • Intellectual curiosity about improving health care delivery
  • Intermediate Excel skills; proficient in using PowerPoint and Word
  • Responds well to and enjoys change; works well under pressure
  • Succinct communicator who thinks well on feet
  • Flexibility to travel as required
  • Based in our hub office of Chicago is required for the summer internship period. Upon joining full-time, there is geographic flexibility (however, full-time Analysts aligned to Private Equity and HealthScape Payer Transformation are required to be based in Chicago or New York)

Pay and Benefits

  • Following a successful internship, the full-time first year base salary for incoming campus hires begins at $85,000, plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus
