About the role

This is a senior-level individual contributor role on the Large Casualty Pricing team, responsible for performing analyses on loss-rated and loss-sensitive casualty business across Commercial lines, including workers compensation, general liability, and commercial auto. The role involves consulting and leading strategy related to actuarial trends and influencing pricing studies for large casualty business. You will participate in and lead corporate-wide initiatives based on trends and work a flexible, hybrid schedule at one of CNA’s office locations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide actuarial guidance and business insights related to Large Casualty business to business partners and functional subject matter experts.
  • Build strong relationships with peers, business partners, and leaders across multiple functions to influence pricing strategy through actionable insights and analytics.
  • Work with senior management in the development and implementation of pricing strategies for Large Casualty.
  • Drive innovation in products through thought leadership.
  • Monitor profitability and trends for Large Casualty, sharing results with recommendations to business partners and actuarial leaders.
  • Participate with senior leadership in the development and implementation of actuarial policies, business strategies, and goals; evaluate performance against goals.
  • Stay up to date with actuarial expertise and industry trends to guide decisions related to the line of business.
  • Produce highly technical actuarial analyses and reports, delivering findings to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
  • Minimum of ten years of related work experience.
  • Fellowship accreditation (FCAS) typically attained.

Pay

In Illinois, New York, and California, the average base pay range for this role is $155,000 to $220,500. In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, and Washington, the national base pay range is $97,000 to $189,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
