About the Role
The Digital Transformation & Enterprise Architecture Consultant will assess the organization's current technology landscape and workflows, identify fragmentation and opportunities for improvement, and develop a practical future-state architecture supporting the full project lifecycle. The consultant will partner with leadership and teams across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls, Finance, Operations, IT, and field execution to ensure technology investments are directly connected to business and project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Transformation Strategy & Current-State Assessment
- Assess the current digital and technology environment across corporate and project operations.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, process reviews, and workflow mapping across the EPC lifecycle.
- Identify fragmented processes, duplicate systems, manual workflows, data gaps, integration issues, and technology constraints.
- Evaluate digital maturity and identify opportunities to improve productivity, visibility, controls, scalability, and project execution.
- Enterprise & Solution Architecture
- Define current-state and future-state enterprise architecture across applications, integrations, data, infrastructure, and business processes.
- Develop architecture principles and standards that support a scalable technology ecosystem.
- Evaluate existing platforms and recommend consolidation, enhancement, replacement, or new capabilities where appropriate.
- Develop transformation roadmaps that sequence initiatives based on business value, dependencies, risk, and implementation complexity.
- EPC & Construction Technology
- Evaluate and improve technology supporting areas such as:
- Estimating and preconstruction
- Engineering and design
- Procurement and supply chain
- Project planning and scheduling
- Project controls and cost management
- Contract and change management
- Equipment and materials management
- Quality and commissioning
- Safety and compliance
- Financial and project accounting
- Support integration between platforms such as ERP, project management, scheduling, project controls, engineering/design, document management, field applications, CRM, HCM, and business intelligence tools.
- Evaluate and improve technology supporting areas such as:
- Data & Digital Architecture
- Define how project, financial, operational, and field data should move across the enterprise.
- Establish clear systems of record, data ownership, integration patterns, and governance.
- Improve the ability to connect field execution with project controls, financial performance, and executive reporting.
- Identify opportunities for automation, advanced analytics, AI, mobile technology, and other emerging construction technologies where there is a clear business case.
- Implementation & Transformation Delivery
- Convert future-state architecture into an actionable, phased implementation roadmap.
- Develop business requirements and support technology/vendor evaluations where necessary.
- Partner with business and technology teams through design, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and adoption.
- Establish governance for transformation initiatives, architecture decisions, and technology investments.
- Help ensure transformation initiatives produce measurable operational and financial outcomes rather than simply deploying new technology.
Qualifications
- Significant experience leading digital transformation, enterprise architecture, technology strategy, or construction technology initiatives.
- Direct experience within EPC, construction, engineering, infrastructure, utilities, renewable energy, or other project-based environments strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end EPC project lifecycle and the relationship between corporate systems and field execution.
- Experience architecting integrated environments involving ERP, project controls, scheduling, engineering, procurement, construction management, and field technologies.
- Experience with major construction and enterprise platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, InEight, Hexagon, CMiC, Viewpoint, or similar platforms preferred.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration, APIs, master data, reporting, analytics, and data governance.
- Experience developing current-state assessments, future-state architectures, technology roadmaps, and business cases.
- Ability to work effectively with both C-suite executives and project/site-level stakeholders.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills with the ability to translate between business, construction, and technical teams.
- Experience with utility-scale solar PV, BESS, power generation, transmission, or renewable infrastructure is highly preferred.
