About the role

Preforming design and analysis to support research and development of Mechanical Ventilator and Sleep Apnea Devices and physiological monitoring instruments. Leads design activities, reviews and reports design’s progress.

Responsibilities

  • Assignments are broad in nature, requiring appreciable initiative, originality, ingenuity and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Subject matter expert in electrical/electronic engineering
  • Primary electrical/electronic engineer, responsible for
    • control system optimization,
    • digital signal processing,
    • pneumatic system optimization, and
    • actuator/sensor selection
  • Drive development of FDA-approved respiratory therapy devices from design through regulatory submission and production
  • Knowledge of EMI measurement and mitigation techniques
  • Experience with IEC 60601/62304 standards
  • Experience working with micro-controller in an embedded system environment
  • Proficiency with major commercial schematic capture and layout tools
  • Proficiency with integrated circuit simulation and analysis via SPICE, MATLAB, Simulink or similar tools
  • Decision Making Responsibilities for electrical systems design

Requirements

  • 10 years industry experience in electrical and electronic engineering, preferably in the medical device industry.
  • Experience leading product development efforts involving electrical and mechanical engineer.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or comparable industrial experience
  • Solid foundation in engineering and scientific fundamentals
  • Publishations/patents a plus
