Consultant Lawyer - Contract (Americas)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lawyer to join Avantia on a consultancy basis. The role involves spearheading the negotiation of investment-related NDAs, joinder agreements, engagement letters, and non-reliance letters. The responsibilities include managing the entire contract process from initial review and negotiation to document execution. You will work closely with fellow Avantia lawyers and paralegals, diving into fast-paced, high-volume negotiations on pre-M&A contracts, primarily investment-related NDAs and engagement letters. This role is fully remote and allows flexible law practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire contract process from initial review and negotiation to document execution
• Collaborate directly with counterparties while ensuring rapid turnaround times
• Negotiate investment-related NDAs, joinder agreements, engagement letters, and non-reliance letters
• Work closely with fellow Avantia lawyers and paralegals

Requirements

• Licensed to practice Law in the USA or Canada
• 2+ years' corporate/transactional law experience, either in-house or private practice
• Experience with independently negotiating investment-related NDAs
• Familiarity with working with asset managers, investment banks, or other financial services firms (though not essential)
