About the role
Under the direction of the Lab Manager, you will develop, administer, direct, and implement all lab and related patient care activities for areas of accountability. Responsibilities include standardization of systems, training, identification of efficiencies, integration of performance improvement strategies, processes, and communication plans that support lab goal attainment while fostering patient, physician, and employee satisfaction. Acts as a technical consultant and/or CLIA Lab Director as needed for assigned areas.
Responsibilities
- Acts as a technical consultant for Baptist clinics.
- Works in close collaboration with the lab and clinical care team to meet and support training and regulatory needs.
- Serves as a resource for lab orders and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements and insurance limitations.
- Implements testing and training as needed to meet operational requirements.
- Utilizes laboratory skills to perform and report results of clearly defined laboratory procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Assists with the training of other employees under the direction of the Lab Services Director and lab manager.
- Responsible for assigned shifts and subject to overtime and call-back as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in medical laboratory science from a NAACLS-accredited MT program (minimum).
- Experience:
- Preferred: Leadership experience; experience in a clinic setting.
- Minimum: 2 years of lab experience in hematology and chemistry.
- Licensure, Registration, Certification: National registration or certification in concordance with current Federal and/or State Regulations. Licensure per state regulations.
