About the role
The Consultant I position is the entry-level role at Resolution Economics, based in the Charlotte office on site, with a start date in the summer of 2027. No prior work experience is required. Consultants assist with managing documents and data, converting raw data into analytical files, verifying data integrity, running statistical analyses, creating charts and tables, and finalizing documents for production. When data is unavailable, Consultants may assist in collecting data through observation studies or in-person surveys at client locations. The role involves forming and testing hypotheses, developing proficiency in programming, and shaping findings into coherent narratives supported by economic theories and statistical methods.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, intellectually curious, and collaborative, with exposure to basic statistical software or programming languages. Responsibilities
- Use SAS and Microsoft Office to analyze data and present results internally and to clients
- Gather data from various file formats using SAS programming, OCR, data entry, or other methods
- Perform data cleaning and processing
- Conduct statistical analyses including t-tests, chi-square tests, regressions, etc.
- Supervise and review Research Assistant work
- Research additional data sources (e.g., Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Census, etc.)
- Assist staff at all levels with project tasks and quality control
- Review and summarize documents
- Occasional travel may be required for certain projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
- Master’s degree is a plus but not required
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with statistical or data programming languages such as SAS, R, STATA, Python, SQL, or VBA
- Demonstrated understanding of economic and statistical concepts
- Experience in litigation or consulting is a plus
- High attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
- Solid work ethic and commitment to success
- Comfort with tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and client requests
- Willingness to work extended or irregular hours based on project needs
Pay
Consultants are paid an annual salary of between $97,300 and $103,000, subject to required deductions and withholdings. The position is classified as exempt from overtime pay requirements under applicable Federal and State law.
