About the Role

The Consultant will support a contract with the Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) held by PCI Government Services and will report to the Program Manager. While this role is remote, candidates must be local to the D.C. area for occasional onsite meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage best practices currently employed in the private and public sectors to support the Program/Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Interact with team members and clients daily, including high-ranking Government officials.
  • Engage in critical problem-solving.
  • Document, track, and manage program/project action items.
  • Manage and maintain a document library/repository of all relevant program/project artifacts.
  • Interface with the client on day-to-day project tasks and needs (e.g., meeting prep & follow-up, action item/planning activities).
  • Assist in the design and development of client deliverables.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and analysis.
  • Translate policy and strategic initiatives into quantitative and qualitative data analysis and investigative data research.
  • Communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, within a large, matrix organization with multiple stakeholders.
  • Maintain quality delivery under tight deadlines and consistently meet client expectations.
  • Manage competing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Create executive-level communications for both internal PCI-GS and client stakeholders.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Eligibility for U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
  • At least 3 years of client-facing management consulting experience for brand-name consulting firms; federal acquisitions/financial assistance consulting experience preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with G-Invoicing and/or Federal Travel Systems.
  • Federal grant administration, management, and compliance reporting.
  • Familiarity with CFR Part 200.
  • Drafting federal acquisition or grants guides, complex SOPs, work instructions, or other large written report deliverables.
  • Quantitative analysis, statistical reporting, metrics, and process design, development, and implementation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior personnel on a daily basis.
  • Ability to read and interpret Federal acquisition policy, regulations, and directives and to apply those interpretations fully and legally to required deliverables.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Outlook, Visio).
  • Ability to develop strong team and client relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including presentation skills).
  • Superior aptitude for analysis, including quantitative analytical skills and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with people at all levels in an organization.
  • Relevant coursework or experience in market research tools, techniques, and methodologies, project, and process management.
