Consultant, Healthcare Strategy & Finance - Managed Care

About the role

The Managed Care Contracting team assists provider clients in the planning and execution of their critical managed care functions, which include contract negotiation and modeling, rate benchmarking, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing contract negotiations on behalf of clients, to include leading payor outreach and ongoing communications, regular follow-up efforts, transmitting and summarizing initial proposals and counterproposals clearly and concisely, executing contract language review and redlining, and summarizing negotiated rates and terms
• Develop and refine financial models to evaluate reimbursement scenarios, contribute to rate benchmarking engagements, and support negotiations
• Attend, and occasionally lead, routine client meetings, document conversation points & takeaways, and identify and complete follow-up items where appropriate
• Prepare client deliverables, aligning with firm standards for content accuracy, structural clarity, and visual presentation
• Conduct market research initiatives, synthesizing findings into strategic briefs that inform internal project direction and enhance the value of client-facing deliverables

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred
• Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration or related field with 2+ years of relevant work experience in the healthcare industry
• Experience in managed care contracting and/or revenue cycle or healthcare consulting
• Proficient experience in Excel and/or other analytics platforms
