Consultant (Entry-Level) – Forensic Accounting & Damages

MBP is seeking an Entry‑Level Consultant to join our dispute resolution practice. The role provides litigation support to attorneys, government entities, contractors, and commercial entities, contributing to expert reports used in courts of law.

Responsibilities

• Forensic Data Analysis: Sift through complex financial records, bank statements, and project accounting data to identify trends or anomalies.
• Document Review & Discovery: Process and review business records using computer‑based software to identify factually relevant documents for analysis.
• Financial Analysis: Assist in calculating damages, cost overruns, and financial impacts.
• Reporting: Contribute to drafting high‑level expert reports, memos, and visual exhibits for trial.
• Research: Apply frameworks such as the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and research legal rulings and filings for applicable cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an analytical business discipline (CPA‑eligible candidates are a plus).
• Working towards or desiring certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and technically savvy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data visualization.

Pay

The base salary range for this full‑time position is $65,000.00 to $78,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on work location, qualifications, experience, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training.
