About the role

The Clearing is seeking a Change Management Consultant to support a high-profile, mission-critical project within the Department of War. The Consultant will work closely with technical subject-matter experts, project leaders, and client stakeholders to support organizational change, improve business outcomes, and ensure the successful adoption of collaboration and information-management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the production of high-quality client-facing deliverables
  • Support the planning and execution of stakeholder engagement activities such as interviews, working sessions, and readiness assessments
  • Facilitate and participate in client-facing meetings to achieve identified, desired outcomes
  • Support the design, coordination, and logistics of external and internal meetings; apply active listening skills and contribute to knowledge capture during meetings
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to assess readiness, address resistance, and promote change adoption
  • Develop communications to support user understanding, engagement, and adoption
  • Develop trusted professional relationships with clients
  • Support and/or lead research, data gathering, and analysis to inform the development of client solutions; synthesize and present results clearly
  • Showcase critical thinking skills to evaluate needs, make recommendations, and partner with team members to refine thinking and approaches to client challenges
  • Participate in business development and networking opportunities
  • Contribute to proposal development (writing and coordination)
  • Support project financial management, as needed

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance (or have had one within the past two years)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years of experience, preferably in management consulting or another professional service or client-facing environment related to change management, stakeholder engagement, communications, IT modernization, and/or management
  • Ability to work onsite in Arlington, Virginia
  • Strong critical thinking/problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing communication
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
  • Flexible and adaptable mindset to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced, high-stakes client environments

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have a Top Secret security clearance (or one that’s been active within the past two years) and be willing to work on-site at the client location in Arlington, VA.

Skills

Consultants regularly contribute to proposal development and are expected to grow in their understanding of project management (including financial management) and business development support (e.g., business capture efforts).

Compensation
The projected annual salary range for this position is between $73,667 and $103,133. Actual compensation and starting salaries are determined by various factors, including the candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, certifications, clearance level, and internal equity. Once at The Clearing, movement through pay bands is based on performance. Base-annual salary is just one component of The Clearing’s total compensation philosophy and approach.
